Conference Location
The conference takes place at Aachen University of Technology (RWTH Aachen), Germany. Aachen is a beautiful old city, which was founded at the end of the 8th century. The cathedral and the town hall from that period are still preserved. The latter was used for the crowning ceremony of the German kings in the Middle Ages.
How to reach the conference by plane
For most participants arriving by plane, Düsseldorf should be the most convenient airport. From Düsseldorf airport, there are train connections and a shuttle bus connection:| Düs -> Ac | Ac -> Düs |

We strongly recommend to book the shuttle bus in advance (phone: +49 241-1820023).
Alternatively, you can take flights to Brussels (B) (about 2h30 by train, change at Brussels Nord), Cologne (by airport bus to central station, from there by train to Aachen), or Maastricht (NL) (few connections, 30 min. by taxi).
How to reach the conference by train
There are direct train connections to Brussels (2h), Paris (4.5h), Düsseldorf Airport (90 min.), Düsseldorf Hbf (central station; 60 min), Cologne (50 min.), and the Netherlands (via Heerlen).If you are looking for some specific train connections, we recommend the German rail server.
Type in (in this order) your email address, the starting station, the destination, the date of your travel (in format: dd.mm.yy), and the starting time. Then, click on ``Formular abschicken''. After a few hours, you will get a list of matching train connections.
How to reach our department
If you want to travel by car, please have a look at this map.The department is located in Ahornstrasse 55. If you want to take a bus from the center, you can use lines 23 or 33. Participants staying in Hotel Ibis-Normaluhr find a stop of line 33 directly at Normaluhr square (direction Klinikum/Vaals). From the other hotels, you can take any bus to the bus station (Bushof) and change there to line 23 (direction Hörn) or line 33 (direction Klinikum/Vaals). Leave at stop Halifaxstrasse. The bus stops right in front of the computer science (Informatik) building. From the bus stop, you will find signs to the conference location. We recommend that you buy a carnet of six tickets (3 x 2). Touristic information about Aachen can be found here.
